Tuition – CNA Classes Cost
Tuition Reimbursement
Scrubs Academy’s 77-hour CNA Training Program costs $1,250–$1,450 and includes:
- Online training and supervised, hands-on classroom instruction with an RN
- Books and supplies
The Minnesota state competency test is an additional $275; fees may vary by testing location.
How Reimbursement Works
Students who pay for their CNA training and testing before becoming employed may qualify for reimbursement from a certified nursing home. Eligible expenses may include the actual cost of tuition, textbooks, and reasonable testing expenses.
To request reimbursement:
- Keep all itemized receipts from your training and testing.
- Pass the state competency test and be added to the Minnesota Nurse Aide Registry.
- Submit your receipts to your qualifying employer within one year.
- Remain employed as a nursing assistant at the facility for at least 90 days.
The facility has 90 days to issue the reimbursement. If you leave before completing 90 days of employment, that facility is not required to reimburse you. The first qualifying facility where you remain employed for at least 90 days may then be responsible, provided you are still within the one-year reimbursement period.
Other employers/training centers/employment centers may voluntarily offer tuition assistance, but only certified nursing homes are required to reimburse eligible expenses.
